Sublime Staff
I have the best staff. For real.I'm very lucky to work with people I like so much.
When you come to Sublime you'll likely see Kesli (on my right) or Natalie (on my left) behind the counter. Kesli is my Bakery Manager and Bridal Specialist. She's the one who will guide you through the wedding cake consultation and tasting and make sure that every detail is absolutely PERFECT! Natalie is my new Office Manager and she's helping me stay organized, a tall order for sure! Both are super awesome, Texas-bred, and totally Sublime!!

Groom's Cake with Hand-Painted Fish
One of our Custom Cakes last Saturday was a Groom's Cake with a hand-painted fish on top. The bride provided a photo of a painting the couple loves. The painting featured a brightly colored Tarpon which I used for my inspiration here.The pic above shows the first stage: a pale blue "canvas". I carved out the scales and other key features then lined those indentations with a dark gray-green. Then comes layers and layers of colors: greens, blues, silver, pinks, yellows..., then some more definition of the lines with gray-green again, and finally, a "glossy" layer to give the look of real fish skin.
