Surprise birthday cake for a UT Longhorn football fan. This one was a departure for me as the client wanted it iced in buttercream. Normally I use fondant over buttercream in my 3-d cakes to achieve the realistic smooth finish. In this one, only the facemask and longhorms are fondant.
I admit it, I've been a very bad blogger, haven't posted since July... my excuse? a crazy wedding season led into a nutty August and then into an insane early fall of overbooked weeks. Add to that my new obsession with our Facebook fan page and, well, I've been MIA from blogging.
